Blyss Garden Rooms were given a very specific design brief by their clients for this garden gym building. Offering a bespoke design service, the Blyss team managed to accommodate each item on the list into their design.
Firstly, they wanted to build a 3m tall garden gym building and site it within 1m of the boundary fences. So, the project required a planning application, which the Blyss Garden Room team helped their clients submit. The Local Authority approved the project.
Blyss's customers wanted to install a TRX training system in a specific place within the room, so working with their clients, the Blyss team worked out where a reinforced beam needed to be positioned to support the ceiling hook for the TRX system.
The customers also wanted to maximise their plot and the space available within the building. The boundary fences next to the plot were not set at a 90-degree angle. This meant that a standard rectangular building would have left a void area behind the building. To avoid this, the Blyss Garden Rooms team designed a custom shaped garden room that is 6.1 meters wide at the front and 7.1 meters wide at the back. The building is 3.5m deep.
Finally, Blyss's customers wanted to incorporate a discreet storage shed into the building. This was positioned on the left-hand side of the building, accessed through a secret door that blends into the wall, thanks to it being clad in the same Cedar cladding as the front wall.
While the gym room has ended up in a conventional rectangular shape, the tapered shape of the building means the shed room is more expansive at the back of the room than at the front.
The Blyss Garden Rooms team have lined the shed with a durable plywood finish, and they have installed a workbench for their clients. Meanwhile, the main room has a high-spec plastered and decorated interior finish. The flooring in the gym room is a mix of rubber matting and hard-wearing vinyl.
The electrical specification includes an air conditioning system, so the owners can set the perfect temperature as they work out.
