Sanctum Garden Studios recently completed a 6m x 4m classroom for a nursery school in Lancashire. The new room provides valuable extra space for the school where the children can play and learn. The building was based on Sanctum Garden Studios Contemporary Range which features dark grey uPVC doors and windows and Western Red Cedar cladding.
With the Contemporary Range, you can specify where the doors and windows are positioned. In this case, the nursery school chose to focus the glazing on the front elevation. They opted for a set of French doors and a long window. The doors and windows are double glazed, which combined with the insulation in the floor, walls and ceiling will mean the room is comfortable to use all year round, with minimal heating.
A steel, insulated panel roof has been used. This system is a sandwich of steel sheets with a rigid insulation in-between. These steel sheets form the interior and exterior finishes. On the external side, the steel is colour coated with a dark grey. Internally, the finish is white. These finishes do not require repainting.
Internally, a walnut laminate flooring has been laid; this is mixed with melamine faced wall boards to create a practical and durable finish. Both finishes can be kept clean and looking good with the wipe of a soapy cloth. Handy, when you have sticky little hands to consider.
