We have recently been introduced to the work of Miniature Manors who offer a bespoke garden room design service. Based in the heart of Sussex they offer a complete service from initial consultation and design, to the installation and aftercare of the building.
The Miniature Manors team are proud to create beautifully hand-crafted garden rooms, using high quality materials. They work with their clients on every fine detail of the build both externally and internally, and can include added features such as electrical work, plumbing and garden landscaping into their quotations.
Miniature Manors don’t offer a standard range of designs. They prefer to work on each individual project sourcing ethically produced oak and other timbers for their buildings. They use stainless steel external fixings to extend the life span and appearance of their buildings.
A Miniture Manors Garden Room
Miniature Manors recently built this large garden room which sits on a footprint of 6 meters long x 5 meters wide. The overall height of the building is 2.8 meters.
Miniture Manors were approached by a couple looking to replace a garage at the end of their garden which was full of things they didn’t need and wasn’t aesthetically pleasing. As engineers, the couple worked from home frequently so wanted to explore how they could use this space in their garden to create a home office. The catch was that they still needed garden storage.
Aimed with this brief the Miniature Manors team designed a large 5 meters x 4 meters light filled office space. Hidden at the rear of the building they created a storage area of 2 meters x 5 meters that has its own access.
The specification of this building included:
- Cedar Shingle Pitched Roof.
- 18mm engineered oak flooring.
- 100mm insulation.
- Bi-fold doors with high quality locking mechanism for security.
- 24mm argon-gas filled double glazed windows.
- Pressure-treted feather edged cladding.
- Heating.
- External spotlights.
- Electrics connected to house.
- Pained with Farrow & Ball paint.
This garden room cost around £32,000. A similar size and specification building with flat roof would cost nearer £26,000. The building took two and a half weeks to complete on site.
Testimonial
We had a old garage at the end of our drive, it wasn’t a pretty site and was full of things which we just might need, but actually we didn’t! This has been replaced by Richard and his craftsmen with a beautiful timbered garden office with a man-shed on the back. The work was carried out in a very professional way with an emphasis on care and creativity. Both Tom and Nick were a pleasure to have working on our garden room. They listened to our ideas and suggestions as well as coming up with good ideas of their own. We are both thrilled with the finished product”
