It is becoming increasingly popular to incorporate toilets or full shower rooms into a garden room building. There are off-grid options such as cassette toilets or composting loos, but if you want to create a shower room like in your house where you can just turn on a tap or press the flush, you want to create a shower room that is connected to the mains supply.
If you choose to work with a company that offers a turnkey installation service, you’ll have the peace of mind of one company handling the whole project for you, including the connections to the mains services. When buying a garden room that incorporates a shower room, you may find that you are quoted widely different prices from different suppliers. This is often because the groundworks and mains connection elements are not included in the quote. These companies will install the shower room fittings, but ask you to arrange the groundworks and connections with another firm. A company offering a turnkey service, on the other hand, will quote you one price for the whole project, including those all-important connections.
Executive Garden Rooms offer a turnkey service
Executive Garden Rooms are a company that offers a turnkey service for their clients. When building a garden room that includes a shower room, they handle the whole project from initial designs right through to the final mains connections. This service includes obtaining Building Control approval for the water and foul waste connections. Garden rooms that incorporate a w.c. or shower room connected the mains supplies must comply with Building Regulations.
The Executive team have recently completed this 5.7m x 4.7m garden room for a family in Wimbledon. They wanted their new room to feature a modern shower room. A spacious shower cubical with resin tray, Mira shower and glass screen has been installed. The room is completed with a toilet and vanity unit. As per the Building Regulations, the shower room has been fitted with an extractor fan.
A light-filled garden room
As you can see from these photos, the garden room is filled with natural light. This is thanks to the combination of a set of French doors with floor to ceiling windows on either side and a large Velux window in the roof. Roof windows like this can be a wise design choice as they flood a room with natural light, even on the dullest of days. Executive Garden Rooms have used an electronic Velux window that is fitted with a rain sensor, so it will automatically close should the weather change. The roof window also comes with a remote control.
Easy to maintain, inside and out
Executive Garden Rooms offer a plastered and decorated finish for the interior of their buildings. In this building, this has been combined with a porcelain tile floor. This was chosen as it is easy to wash and maintain.
Externally, the building has been finished with Cedral cladding. This has become a popular option with Executive Garden Rooms customers. Cedral is a cement based board that comes in a range of colours. It doesn’t require repainting and will maintain its new look, with little input from you.
Well specified electrics
Executive Garden Rooms offer well specified electrical packages. They work with each customer to choose the layout and combination that works for them. With this project, the electrical package includes an air conditioning system. This offers the family touch button control of the temperature in the room throughout the year. LED downlights have been fitted both inside the room and externally. Ample double power sockets have been fitted throughout the room and connection to the internet will be reliable thanks to the Cat6 data cabling. A smoke alarm has also been fitted.
