Garden rooms are becoming popular with families who are looking to create a new space that all the family can use both together and individually. This example by eDEN Garden Rooms is a bespoke design that has been designed around the families desire to create a multi-function space that can be used as a TV room, games room and guest room.
This family room is a substantial 8.4 meters wide by 3.6 meters deep. This has created a 7m wide main room with a 1.25m x 2.8m deep shower room to the left. eDEN’s customer asked them to create the shell of the shower room and to fit the necessary electrics. They chose to use a local plumber to fit out the shower room and to organise the connections to the mains services. eDEN Garden Rooms would have undertaken this work as part of their turnkey service, but are equally happy to just provide the shell of the shower room, as in this case. This is the beauty of working with a bespoke garden room company; the project is tailored to your wishes.
Inspired by a pilates studio
The design for this family room was inspired by one of eDEN Garden Rooms previous projects, a contemporary Pilates studio. eDEN’s customer liked the arrangement of doors and windows and replicated it in their own room.
It’s a good idea to work out what your view of the garden room will be from the house. The eDEN team and their customer did this, and decided to add a glazed corner section, which allows views from the house to look into the room, this is a clever design trick.
Three floor to ceiling windows have been positioned on the right-hand wall to frame the stunning views of the Cotswolds that the garden enjoys. A four-leaf set of bi-fold doors has been positioned on the front elevations which will slide back easily to create a great connection with the garden.
Ready for lunch
This project was completed just before Christmas; the eDEN team worked through difficult weather conditions to ensure that the building was completed on the agreed schedule. The project took two and a half weeks to complete on-site.
As we mentioned earlier, this is to be a multi-function family space. Its first use was to host the families Christmas lunch!
