Garden studios are excellent spaces for artists of all mediums. A recent Sanctum Garden Studios customer chose a 3m x 2.4m Hampton Grey to create her ceramic studio. Having researched her options, she decided that the standard design Hampton was a perfect size, to house her kiln and still leave space to work.
The weight of the kiln needed to be taken into consideration when choosing a garden studio. The timber and steel floor frame that Sanctum Garden Studios use was deemed up to the job.
Natural light in the studio was another consideration and the glazed front wall of the Hampton range ensures this. This full wall of floor to ceiling glazing is made up from a single, outward opening door and two fixed windows.
As standard, the Hampton has the electrical sockets and lights pre-fitted on one side wall. The Sanctum team were happy to incorporate the electrics and plumbing needed for the kiln into the wall structure. This included adding an extractor fan and the pipework for a plumber to connect to the kiln.
As you can see from these images, the walls of the Hampton are finished with MDF sheets. Some buyers choose to leave this as is, others choose to paint the walls. MDF sheets take paint very well.
Sanctum Garden Studios offer a laminate flooring option, in this case, the floor is shown with the standard sub-floor.
With the basic 3m x 2.4m Hampton studio costing £6,495, it is a very cost-effective way to create an artists studio.
