Sometimes, a non-square garden room is the best way to maximise the space available in your garden. Some bespoke garden room companies will relish the challenge of creating an unusually shaped garden room. eDEN Garden Rooms are one such company.
Unusually, eDEN’s customer had already drawn up the garden room they wanted to create and obtained planning approval before finding a company to build it. They contacted several garden room companies as part of their research who were put off by the triangular shape of the building. The eDEN Garden Rooms team, however, were up for the challenge! They could see how they could use their expertise to bring their client’s vision and plans to life.
eDEN’s clients wanted to create a home office and tranquil place to practice Pilates. The triangular building they had designed is a substantial size, offering more than enough space for the two distinct uses. Two of the walls are 7 meters long with the wall forming the front elevation being 8.125 meters. One corner has been partitioned off to create a w.c. which is accessed via a door on the outside of the building.
A large triangular shaped like this could be dark towards the back of the room, but not in this case. Cleverly, two small windows have been fitted at the point where the two walls meet, allowing light into the rear of the room and creating a nice panoramic design feature. The main glazing is focused on the front elevation. A 3.3m wide set of bi-fold doors has been mixed with 1.425m wide half height windows either side.
The bi-doors lead onto a veranda area which wraps around the front of the building. The roof has been extended beyond the front wall to create a canopy which has recessed LED downlights fitted. These lights will create a curtain of light down the front of the building. This covered veranda will make a lovely space to sit with a drink!
Building a non-square garden room like this takes skill and an eye for detail as you are dealing with some complex angles and compound joints that need to be cut. As we can see from these photos, the effort has paid off with the cladding and decking perfectly jointed.
We mentioned that a room for a w.c was created. eDEN’s customer engaged their own plumber to fit this out and connect this to the mains services, once the building was complete.
This is a clever, complex project that proves that eDEN Garden Rooms can turn your vision into reality. To learn more about this project, talk to the eDEN Garden Rooms team on 0800 0935 339 or take a look at their website to learn more about their 7-stage design process.
