Choosing a local garden room company
With a clear vision for the buildings he required. Sanctum's client wanted to work with a local garden room company, as he felt this was the best way to achieve exactly what they wanted. Sanctum Garden Studios, based in Chorley Lancashire, was his local designer.
Home gym with bike workshop and storage
The main gym space features lots of floor to ceiling glazing, which frames views of the garden. On the front elevation, a set of French doors with windows on either side has been fitted. The glazing wraps around onto the side wall, where a wide picture window has been installed.
Bike workshop
As well as the gym and storage room, Sanctum's client wanted to create a bike workshop. Potentially, this additional use could have been incorporated into the one building. But, in this case, it was decided to create another building located in a different area of the garden.
The workshop did not need to be insulated like the main gym building. Otherwise, it has the same structural makeup as the gym with durable external cladding, covering and uPVC door. This building is higher spec than the average shed/workshop.
For this building, the customer chose grey weatherboarding as the exterior cladding. This looks great mixed with the dark grey uPVC trims.
A single, solid uPVC door has been fitted on the front wall. The multi-point locking system will mean that the tools and bikes stored in the workshop will be safe and secure.
The project was completed in 3 days by the Sanctum team. This included plastering the walls and ceiling in the gym. Typically, a laminate floor would be fitted during the build. In this case, though, the customer chose to add their own flooring after the installation team left site.
