This bespoke garden room by Heritage Garden Studios has been designed to offer the clients a multifunctional space they can use all year round for work, entertaining, and relaxing. The clients’ aim was to create a space that would enable an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, and this has been achieved with an insulated garden room paired with a glazed veranda area and open deck. This thoughtful combination provides the homeowners with an outdoor space for all weather conditions. The garden room has been finished in well-specified, low-maintenance materials to ensure it maintains its appearance with minimal upkeep.
Garden Room Tailored to the Clients’ Requirements
Working with Heritage Garden Studios is a collaborative process. They take the time to understand your vision for your garden space and prepare the designs accordingly. In this case, the clients wanted to create an insulated outdoor room that seamlessly flowed into a covered outdoor space and a spacious deck, offering versatile garden living.
The garden room itself sits on a footprint of 4m x 3m, with the glazed veranda extending 2m wide. 8sqm of composite decking has been carefully shaped to follow the contours of the garden, providing a cohesive and functional design.
Minimalist Interior Finish
The clients had a distinct vision for the interior aesthetics of the building. Instead of opting for the fully plastered and decorated finishes seen on other Heritage Garden Studios projects, they chose a more minimalist approach. The OSB finish of the Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) has been left exposed, creating a raw and modern aesthetic. Complementing this, steel surface-mounted electrical fittings were installed, offering a striking industrial touch compared to the more traditional recessed electrics.
Low-Maintenance Exterior Finishes
Externally, all finishes have been chosen for their low-maintenance qualities. The doors and windows feature high-spec aluminium frames, ensuring durability and a sleek appearance. The exterior cladding and decking are composite wood options from Artificial Living’s range, known for their resilience and minimal upkeep requirements. The aluminium glazed veranda is colour-matched to the doors and windows, ensuring a cohesive design.
The vertical lines created by the slatted composite cladding enhance the modern aesthetic of the building. This cladding style is a popular choice among Heritage Garden Studios clients, as demonstrated in our archive of their projects showcasing its use in various designs and colourways.
