When we first received the Finchampstead family's garden room planner submission back in March 2019, we knew that this was going to be a sensational installation!
As well as giving the family some much needed extra space including a storage area and an additional daytime lounge, this premium outdoor garden room was going to serve a number of different purposes.
Foremost, it was to provide a unique and exciting new place to extend their love of entertaining. The new space was to accommodate both a barbeque and fully fitted kitchen in order to serve both the indoor and outdoor dining areas. Making it perfect for the unpredictable British weather, all year round!
As we progressed with the project, the designs did need to change a little. This is where Swift excel, we can adapt to any changes, even when the build has begun. Although this wasn't to be a permanent self-contained dwelling, the family decided they'd like the convenient addition of a shower-room.
To allow for substantial amounts of rich, natural light, we incorporated large bi fold doors that extended the full width of the multi living space. These open onto the vast decking area, - which was slightly extended with another small design change from our family, thus creating a smooth and impressive transition into the garden. Much to our clients' delight this increased the entertaining space, allowing even more room for friends and family.
At Swift, we've learned to be experts at problem solving and for this fantastic build, we had to call on those skills! There were a number of issues while sourcing our supplies, where we had to overcome road closures and diversions. Not to mention the inclement weather and gale force winds! Life is full of surprises, but that’s part of the fun!

After these challenges and small setbacks, we were proud to provide the family with their large and life changing (10x5.4m) garden space, clad in a glorious cedar and dark grey, all brought to life in the setting sun with decadent lighting.
Our clients have tastefully finished the interior of their high-quality investment with soft greys and natural wood finishes to reflect the exterior, festooning the space with small pops of vibrantly coloured textiles.
