We have just added a new option to our popular Small Garden Office Guide. The new design is by Crane Garden Buildings and called the Classic Garden Office.
It's a good name, as it is classically a Crane Garden Building, featuring many of their trademark features alongside some contemporary design details.
At 2.4m x 3m, it is a popular size for a small garden office. The building has an overall height of less than 2.5m, making the office Permitted Development friendly.
We like how the Crane team have detailed the hooded canopy on the front elevation. Rather than drop the side sections straight to the ground, they have tapered them at the bottom, creating a contemporary look.
French doors and a long, top hung window have been fitted in the front wall. You can choose whether the window is on the left or right of the doors.
You can also choose the colour of the exterior cladding, from a palette including soft greens and greys.
Inside, the matchboard cladding is left natural. This looks good as is, but you could choose to paint the matchboard at a later date if you want to create a soft shaker style interior.

Configure your garden office
Crane Garden Buildings have a configurator on their website. The base price of £8,940 includes VAT, delivery and installation. As standard, the Classic Garden Office does not include electrics, but you can order an electrical pack with or without heating. With this pack, the electrics are hidden within the walls with flush socket plates for a neat finish. You will need to organise the final connection to your house, with a local electrician.
You also need to consider a suitable foundation; Crane Garden Buildings suggest a concrete slab. You can organise this prior to installation of the building or choose for the Crane team to install it as part of the overall project.
There is also a guttering pack you can choose as you work through the configurator, we suggest you opt for this as it is always sensible to direct the rainwater away.
