As well as creating garden rooms, many of the companies we feature can adapt their designs for use in more commercial settings. Ark Design/Build based in Kent and covering London and the South East are one such company.
They recently completed this 9 meters wide by 4.5 meter deep community building for a charity in Richmond. Elderly residents will use the versatile space for a variety of uses.
Ark Design/Build handled the project on a turnkey basis, handling all aspects of the project from installing the foundations, right through to connecting the services, i.e. the electrics, water and waste, to the mains supplies.
Open plan living
The building has been designed as one large open plan space with a w.c discreetly positioned in one corner. The kitchen area has been positioned in the recess created by the partition walls forming the w.c.
The kitchen, complete with stylish units fridge and sink is the ideal space for making drinks and snacks. A water heater has been fitted so the kitchen sink and basin in the w.c will have hot water as needed.
The spacious w.c has been fitted with brushed steel rails and hand dryer. So was ready for visitors as the Ark Design/Build team left site.
The main room has been finished to a high specification with plastered and decorated walls and ceiling. LED downlights have been recessed into the ceiling, ensuring the room has good quality lighting.
Two sets of bi-fold doors will fold back, opening the room out onto the garden. They also make for easy access into the room.
