A very relevant article for the weather we have been having, complete with definite beach vibes…
It's not often you get the chance to build a 'beach hut' in the heart of Chelsea; however, Crusoe Garden Rooms Limited have just done exactly that.
Situated in a beautiful enclosed garden in the heart of Chelsea, Crusoe Garden Rooms designed this bespoke 5m wide by 2.5m deep building that is divided into two rooms; they then handcrafted it on-site.
The building features all the usual specification details of a Crusoe Garden Room. These details include 100mm Ecotherm insulation in the walls and ceiling along with 75mm rigid insulation in the floor, creating a room that is both warm in winter and cool in the summer - creating real extra living space for the client.
A key feature of all Crusoe Garden Rooms is the Western Red Cedar external cladding. In keeping with their beach hut theme, Crusoe's clients chose to have the Cedar painted. Cedar takes colour well, and a custom shade of Sadolin Superdec was chosen for the exterior. Superdec is a popular choice for garden buildings as it has a long lifespan compared with traditional paint finishes.
Inside, the room has been plasterboarded, plaster skimmed and then painted throughout in two coats of emulsion. The laminate flooring was chosen by the customer and completes the beach feel of this bespoke room.
Here you can see the partition wall with the beautiful seaside-y door as chosen by the customer; you can also see the downlights, switches and plug sockets, which come as part of the full electrical package that Crusoe Garden Rooms offer, which includes the connection to the consumer unit.
