eDEN Garden Rooms are fast becoming the go-to name for families looking to create a multi function new room at the end of their garden that can be enjoyed by all the family. This example sits on a compact 4m wide by 2.5m deep footprint and packs a lot into the small space. Not only has a modern room been created overlooking the garden, but also a valuable storage area. The eDEN team have maximised every inch of space.
Other family rooms the eDEN team have created:
No direct access to the garden, so everything went through the house
As is the case, with many terrace properties, there was no direct access to the intended plot. This meant that the thought had to be given to the size of the various components of the building so that they could be walked through the house and down the garden. While some companies would be put off an access challenge like this, the eDEN Garden Rooms team have experience working around a tricky plot.
Not only did they have access issues to contend with, but the weather also proved to be a challenge. The eDEN team had to contend with the bad snow storms that hit the Country in March. Despite this setback, much to their client’s delight, the eDEN team were able to stay on schedule.
Designed to fill the end of the garden
The garden room has been designed to maximise the modestly sized plot at the end of the garden. Slotting in between the boundary fences of the garden. Rather than build tight to these fences, a small footpath has been left between the building and the fence on each side. This will make maintaining the building easy in the future, something some buyers fail to consider.
A letterbox shaped window has been positioned high in the rear wall, for extra light and easy opening. The main glazing is on the front wall, in the form of a set of modern sliding doors. These lead on to a contemporary veranda area running along the front of the building. Traditional grooved deck boards have been used; we particularly like how the eDEN team have taken the time to mitre the joints on the perimeter boards, nice detailing.
Another nice detail is the grey corner board that has been used at the wall corners. This has been colour matched with the doors and fascia boards. This dark grey finish compliments the vertical Western Red Cedar which has been used on the walls. This cladding has also been fitted on the front of the door that leads into the storage area, creating a ‘secret door’.
