More and more garden room projects we explore, the owners have chosen to add a storage area within the building. This multifunction design by Garden Spaces is a fine example. The 6.3m x 4m footprint of the building is divided to create the main room that will be used as a home gym and, to the left, a storage room.
High-spec interior finish
Garden Spaces use SIP's for the core structure of their buildings. This creates a strong, highly insulated envelope. The main room is finished to a high spec, with plastered and decorated walls and ceiling and wooden flooring.
As we can see, these interior finishes create a light, modern room. LED downlights have been recessed into the ceiling, and a plentiful supply of power sockets. For the colder days of the year, a slimline electric panel heater has been fitted - Garden Spaces offer a range of heating and cooling options that you can choose from.
Durable storeroom
The OSB face of the SIP's is left bare in the storage room; this creates a practical and highly durable finish. The OSB forms a sound basis for adding storage shelves and hooks. The Garden Spaces team will work with you to decide on the lighting and power point specification the storeroom will have around how you plan to use it.
Looking at the images of this project, you can just see the door leading into the storeroom on the front elevation. Known as a secret door, they are designed to blend into the wall cladding. The door is flush with the wall surface and faced with the same Cedar cladding as the wall. As we can see, the Garden Spaces team has carefully matched boards on the door to seamlessly match with the wall boards.
Garden gym specialists
For more than a decade, Garden Spaces have designed and built garden rooms for all manner use from home offices to self-contained garden homes. They have become one of the go-to garden gym specialists, as they understand the unique requirements of a gym building.
The Garden Spaces designers will work closely with you to tailor the layout and specification to your requirements.
This gym building has an overall height of 2.5m, which makes it Permitted Development friendly. However, many gym buyers opt for a taller garden room that will offer greater headroom when using equipment.
The Garden Spaces design team understands that gym equipment is heavy, so have systems to strengthen the floor structure. They can also reinforce the wall and roof structures if you wish to incorporate wall or ceiling mounted equipment.
Garden Spaces offer a palette of options to enhance your garden gym building. They offer air conditioning systems so you can set the perfect temperature all year round. They can install a shower room that extends the useability of the room today and in the future, and they offer specialist finishes such as rubber flooring that enhance the gym experience.
One stop shop for garden gyms
We recently wrote about Garden Spaces being a 'One Stop Shop' for garden rooms. Unlike many other companies, the Garden Spaces will quote you for the whole project, from the initial design right through to the connections to the mains services.
This type of project-managed service allows you to sit back and enjoy watching your envisaged building come to life.
Please request a copy of the Garden Spaces brochure to explore their offerings further. It is worth noting that Garden Spaces offers a deposit insurance scheme to insure your payments while you wait for your room to be manufactured; this provides peace of mind during these uncertain times.
