The beauty of working with a bespoke designer is that a one-off building can be created to cater for your specific needs. This recent project by Executive Garden Room demonstrates this. Their client wanted to create a home office with views of the garden, plus a secure storage room and a discreet outdoor storage area. In addition, they wanted to incorporate a shower room to extend the use of the building, now and in the future.
To accommodate these different needs, the Executive Garden Rooms team designed a 5.5m wide by 3.5m deep building. This was divided up to house the storage shed, shower room and the office space. To the left of the building, behind the facade of the front wall, is an outside storage area for bikes etc. This discreet storage area is 3.5sqm in size.
Executive Garden Rooms offer a turnkey installation service. They handle the whole project from initial designs and planning and building control applications right through to the final decoration. In this case, this service included the groundworks for the electrical, drainage, water and foul connections and the installation of a reinforced concrete base.
The exterior finishes of the garden office are all low maintenance options. Cedral, a cement fibre board has been used on the walls. This is a pre-coloured material that will maintain its appearance without painting. uPVC doors and windows have been chosen, which will require little more than a soapy wipe down to keep them looking good, and a multi-layer bitumen roof covering will stand the test of time.
Inside, Executive Garden Rooms have a plastered and decorated interior, just like a room in a new build house. The customer chose to add an air conditioning system, giving them control over both heating and cooling the room.
