This fabulous building is another great example of Swift’s dedication to listening closely to your needs and helping you create your very own, bespoke, life-changing space – your building your way, always!
Upon initial enquiry, their client already had some clear ideas about how their new garden room could work best for them. Their new multipurpose space was to be used as a family room and office, incorporating lots of glass with a separate garden storeroom. With their ‘thinking caps’ on the Swift design team manage to produce a stunning room that is both striking and practical - fully utilizing the corner of their garden, brilliantly maximising on the available space.
The L-shaped design has 7m x 7m perimeter edges running adjacent to the garden fence. The façade of the garden room has the angle cleverly flattened off to create a 3-sided part hexagonal shape, allowing for oversized powder coated aluminium sliding doors. The multipurpose room certainly meets their client’s requirement for lots of light with 3 additional 1m top hung windows, as well as a garden facing 1.2m fixed pane picture window – all in premium powder coated aluminium.
The building is clad in beautiful Red Western Cedar and a 2.1 x 1.9m garden storage room with its own entrance neatly hidden away behind a concealed door.
The 300mm overhang has been introduced as a stylish design feature, but it will also help to keep the room cool from the mid-day sun, assisted by the integral window blinds and air conditioning / climate control.
The 700mm composite deck beautifully silhouettes the shape of the building and creates a step out on to the lawn area.
As with all of Swift’s buildings, this multipurpose room is fitted with brushed chrome sockets with USB points and switches throughout, recessed, dimmable Collingwood internal and external downlights with extended warranty as standard. Built using high quality SIP panels, for comfortable year-round use.
This project also included:
- Site clearance including removal of existing summer house
- New electric, water, waste and internet service connections provided
- Building regulations inspected and certified Footing system
This beautiful room took around 3 weeks to complete. Typically, a building of this size with these features would cost from around £52,000 including VAT.
