This L-shaped building by Garden2Office is a truly multifunctional space. Sitting on a footprint of 29 square meters, the building has been divided up to create an artists studio, extra living space, a bathroom and a storage shed.
The project is a bespoke version of Garden2Office's Sportskabin range, which they can configure in non-rectangular shapes - they can angle walls too to maximise an unusually shaped site; not all garden room companies can do this.
The living roof looks great from above
The garden room has been sited close to the Victorian semi-detached house. The owners will have a great view of the sedum roof covering from the upstairs of the house. This is a great design choice; buyers often overlook thinking about the view of the garden room from above.
Stylish interior finishes
Garden2Office offers a range of interior finishes; in this case, the customers opted for tongue & groove panelling painted in a lovely shade of green.
The panelling mixed with the framed ledged and braced doors has created a comfortable country look.
As well as the glass doors, each room has a skylight. The top light that a roof window creates adds another dimension to the room. They are great to sit under too, and watch the clouds pass by!
A bathroom makes the garden room self-contained
The multifunctional space is completed with a bathroom. While a significant upfront expense, adding bathroom facilities enhances the useability of the building now and futureproofs it too.
