Often the ideal spot in a garden for an insulated outdoor room already has a building on it, the garden shed. A garden shed is a valuable addition to our homes, storing all manner of things from bikes and tools to possessions we want to keep but don't have room for in the house.
Because of this, we can be reluctant to lose such a valuable building. However, you don't have to compromise if you work with a company such as Garden Spaces.
Garden Spaces can design you one building that is divided into two, to create a comfortable home office with practical storage alongside.
For the structural envelope of the building, Garden Spaces use SIPS panels. SIPS create a highly insulated building. That is a comfortable place to work all year round. Externally, knot-free, kiln-dried Westen Red Cedar cladding is used. Using one material for the exterior of the building belies that the building does have two different uses.
Inside the two rooms, have very different finishes. In the office, a high-spec plastered and decorated finish has been used. Mixed with a wooden floor, this creates a room like in a new build house.
While you would have the option of having a plastered and decorated finish in the storage shed, it would be a bit of a waste. Instead, Garden Spaces leave the inner leaf of the SIPS exposed. The OSB board is a highly durable finish, ideal for storage areas and workshops.
Stylish outdoor office space
As we can see from these images, Garden Spaces create stylish outdoor office spaces. They have created lots of them over the years. This example has an overall footprint of 5.15m by 3m. The office space has an internal footprint of 3.08m x 2.68m.
The key feature of the office space is the corner of floor to ceiling glazing. The large expanse of glazing not only ensures a naturally light room, but offers lovely views of the garden beyond.
