Tired of paying rent on office space, a recent Timeless Garden Rooms customer turned to the space in their garden to create a spacious, modern home office.
They wanted a painted exterior finish, to blend in with existing garden buildings, and to be reminiscent of local beach huts. Timeless Garden Rooms are experienced in creating painted garden rooms making use of the specialist exterior paint finishes by Farrow & Ball.
Permitted Development friendly office design
Timeless Garden Rooms customer wanted to create a garden office that would comply with Permitted Development rights. The Timeless team are used to designing buildings which comply with these rules.
They managed to design a 6m wide by 3m deep building that is 2.5m high. Partition walls have been used inside to create a cloakroom with toilet. In the recess outside the w.c, a sink and worktop have been fitted so the owner can make teas and coffees, without having to go back to the house.
The Timeless Garden Rooms team handled the groundworks and connections to the mains supply for the toilet and sink. Not all garden room companies offer this service, but there are many benefits to working with a firm who handle the whole project.
The groundworks included creating trenching through existing crazy paving. The Timeless Garden Rooms team took care to restore the paving as they backfilled the trenches.
In addition to the standard groundworks, the customer wanted to create a 6inch band of slate around the perimeter of the office, and a bespoke step leading into the room. The Timeless Garden Rooms team are happy to make finishing details like this a reality.
Light, modern home office
The internal walls have been spray-painted in a muted Farrow & Ball shade, creating a room with a modern feel.
Natural light is an important consideration in office design, and the Timeless Garden Rooms team have ensured a light workspace by mixing large casement windows with a wide pair of French doors.
