Phoenix Timber Buildings offer a wide range of timber garden buildings, including contemporary style pods, pitched roof garden rooms with traditional details, granny annexes that can create a self-contained home in your garden alongside a range of workshops and garages.
Hampshire based Pheonix Timber Buildings have been around for more than 25 years; we first featured their work here on The Garden Room Guide in 2010, so they are experienced hands.
A different approach to pricing
Most of the garden room companies we feature have designed a standard specification for the building, just leaving you the option of choosing the size and layout of the doors and windows. However, Phoenix Timber Buildings have taken a different approach.
They start with a basic shell, which includes the core framework, inclusive of the insulated floor and the roof covering and the all-important breather membrane. You can then choose the style and thickness of the external cladding used. Additionally, you can select the type of insulation that is fitted in the walls and roof structure and the internal finishes.
You can also choose the style and layout of the doors and windows. For instance, if you wanted a room with glazing on three walls, Phoenix Timber Buildings can do this.
Phoenix Timber Buildings have recently launched a new website, and this includes a configurator that allows you to design your ideal garden room. The configurator is a valuable tool, as not only do you get to explore the breadth of design choices you can make, it also instantly updates the buildings price with each choice you make. This is handy if you need to scale back on the features to bring your garden room in on budget.
Both contemporary style and traditional style garden rooms
Phoenix Timber Buildings offer both contemporary style and traditional style garden rooms. With each of their ranges, you can choose the size and layout of the doors and windows. This tailor-made approach is showcased on their website; each range has an extensive archive of case studies that show how their buildings are customised for each customer.
We particularly like their Garden Room Range which is more traditional in style and features a pitched roof. The pitched roofline offers a lot of character. As well as dual pitch rooflines, you can also choose half hip and Hampshire hip configurations. Pitched roof coverings on offer include Felt shingle, Ardesia tiles, Tapco tiles and Cedar Shingles.
Granny annexe options too
Alongside their garden room designs, Phoenix Timber Buildings also offer self-contained granny annexe buildings. These homes in the garden are built to Building Regulation standards. Like their garden rooms, you start with the granny annexe shell and then customise the finishes to your needs and tastes.
There is an option for designing a granny annexe on the Phoenix Timber Buildings configurator; try it out here.
