As bespoke garden room designers, Timeless Garden Rooms can tailor the specification of their buildings around their customer's intended use. This soundproof garden recording studio is an excellent example of this tailored approach.
Timeless Garden Rooms client plans to use their room as a music recording studio. Intending to create professional recordings in the studio, the clients wanted to ensure minimal echoing within the room.
To achieve the desired level of soundproofing, Timeless Garden Rooms enhanced their multi-layer build-up by utilising the ReductoClip system. This system creates a decoupled structure - a room within a room.
The multi-layer build-up of the ReductoClip system is about 15mm thinner than traditional resilient bar build-ups. This results in you ending up with more useable space in the room.
This image shows the room with the Reducto furring bars fixed in place.
This second image shows the first layer of acoustic plasterboard with the Tecsound membrane applied. A further layer of acoustic plasterboard will have been fixed over this creating a sandwich of the three layers. Tecsound adds mass to the structure.
The room was then plastered and decorated, which, as we can see, has created a room like that in a new build house. The 3.5m wide by 5m deep studio offers ample space for instruments and recording equipment.
A similar specification costs from £1,800 per square meter.
An ecological survey was required
As part of the planning application for this project, an ecological survey was required. The Timeless Garden Rooms team handled this as part of their turnkey service. This type of end-to-end service makes the process of adding a garden studio a stress-free process for the customers.
Contemporary Larch clad design
This soundproof studio is an example of Timeless Garden Rooms' contemporary Siberian Larch clad range. As we can see, the weatherboard finish creates walls with texture and interest. The natural honey colour of the new Larch looks lovely, butting into the dark grey door and window frames.
