Multipurpose Multi-room Garden Room - Surrey
This fantastic multi-room, multipurpose space, completed by Swift a few months ago, is a perfect example of a bespoke design.
The ‘tetris’-like shaped building is made up of 3 specific use rooms - designed to fit a very specific space, shadowing a critical retaining wall in this beautiful, tiered garden.
The first space is the home gym. As with a lot of gym equipment, increased height was desirable. To allow us to still build under Permitted Development Rights, the additional height was achieved by adding a mono-pitch roof that is not only compliant but looks amazing.
The central L-shaped room is designed for use as an arts and craft hobby room, fitted with a sink for clean-up and cupboards for storage. This workshop has its own separate entrance through sliding doors.
Next door, with the optimum view over the beautiful garden and countryside is the entertainment/leisure suite. With bifold doors creating 2 walls of glazing, air conditioning and a kitchenette, this space is the perfect venue to party! This space can easily adapt and become a private suite for the occasional overnight guest too - flexibility of future-use that the Swift designers will always encourage.
An en-suite shower room is conveniently placed off this multipurpose room. Directly behind this is a tool store with outside access. As you can see, no compromises here!
The clients have chosen an eco-friendly sedum roof, to blend into the established garden. The main elevations see a unique mix of red western Cedar and render, to stand out in terms of style.
