Building a house or undertaking a large renovation project, you’re going to need a site office. Some garden office designs lend themselves to being temporary site offices and are a great alternative to a Portakabin. Being fully insulated and pre-wired, they offer a warm, secure workspace.
Recently, Sanctum Garden Studios built one of their 3m x 2.4m Hampton studios, for a client who needed a site office for about five months. At the end of the project, the office would be moved to a new home and used as a home office. Starting at £6,495 it is a cost-effective solution, particularly if it goes on to have another life as a home office.
Generally, Sanctum Garden Studios don’t recommend moving their buildings. They say:
Our studios are pre-fabricated in our workshops and then built and finished on-site to a high standard, with all panel joints bonded and sealed. This would mean that that the dismantling and ‘second’ build would be more time consuming and difficult, and there would obviously be a new foundation required along with new roof fixings, trims, sealants, etc.
However, a few of their customers have gone on to move their building at a later date, without too many problems. In this case, where the building was going to be moved in a few months time. The Sanctum team suggested that the panels were not bonded together and the interior trims not sealed. The building could then be easily dismantled then bonded and sealed once it reaches its final home.
A small garden office like the Hampton will make a great site office. To learn more, talk to the Sanctum Garden Studios team on 01275 279 161 or send them an email. Explore www.sanctumgardenstudios.com to see more of their work.
