Garden2Office the specialists in Swedish garden office design have given their demo office a makeover, and we just had to share it here, as it looks so good! We are sure it will inspire garden room owners whose buildings have started to look aged.
Garden2Offices demo office, which they let customers look around by appointment is 10+ years old. Garden2Office specialise in Swedish garden rooms which utilise highly durable materials and high levels of insulation.
The exterior of the demo building was clad in Western Red Cedar which is one of the most durable choices for the exterior of a garden room. It starts out a lovely reddish-brown colour but as it ages this will change to a silvery grey. This change in colour does not affect the durability of the Cedar but does change its appearance.
Updating Cedar cladding
The Garden2Office team decided that it was time for a makeover. The building and the Cedar cladding remain sound, so it was just a cosmetic transformation.
We recently wrote about the growing trend for black garden rooms. Over the years, Garden2Office has been a leader in the tread for black garden offices. For there demo office transformation, the Garden2Office team chose a matt black paint finish to revitalise the surface of the Cedar cladding.
They started by painting the side walls black, leaving the front wall and canopy in the weathered Cedar. We think this looks great, and clearly shows how good mixing external finishes can look.
The Garden2Office team went on to paint the front wall and canopy in the matt black. Mixed with the existing black frames of the doors and windows, the demo office now looks like new again, and very on-trend!
Millboard decking completes the transformation
The Garden2Office team have completed the transformation by replacing the weathered timber decking with Millboard decking in a pale grey. Millboard is a high spec composite wood decking that has a realistic wood texture and does not become slippery or lose its colour.
